Installation help, common questions, and troubleshooting for Real World Translate.

Install from Chrome Web Store

  1. Open the Real World Translate listing in the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Click Add to Chrome.
  3. Confirm the installation when Chrome asks.
  4. Open or refresh Skool.

Using Smart Translate

  1. Open a Skool community in Chrome.
  2. Open the Real World Translate controls.
  3. Select Smart Translate.
  4. Choose your preferred language under My language.
  5. Click Start Smart Translate.

What Smart Translate does

Smart Translate can detect the language of individual posts and comments. Content written in another supported language is translated into your selected language. Content already written in your preferred language is left unchanged.

First-time language download

Chrome may need to download a local translation model for a language pair the first time it is used. If translation does not begin immediately, follow any message shown by the extension and try starting Smart Translate again.

Common troubleshooting

The translator does not appear

Refresh the Skool page after installing the extension. You can also confirm that Real World Translate is enabled in chrome://extensions.

A post was not translated

Very short text, emojis, names, or unsupported language pairs may not be translated. Try scrolling the post into view and starting Smart Translate again.

Translation stopped after reloading

Chrome may require a user action to start a local translation session after a full page reload. Open the translator and start Smart Translate again.
